About The Event

Hantwick Road Trailhead

(Easy Hike) Join us for an easy 5.2 mile out and back hike along the East Fork Lewis River near Yacolt, WA. We will meet at the large open parking area at the Hantwick Road Trailhead. I will have an orange backpack. We will wait about 15 minutes or so in case there is a hold up for anybody before we begin our hike.

We ask that you download the EDDMapS app and create a profile. Please make sure to add Pacific Northwest Invasive Plant Council to your user group. For help you can go to https://www.pnw-ipc.org/basic-01. If you need any additional help please reach out to us.

The purpose of this hike is to finish up the survey from last month at the Lucia Falls Trailhead. We weren’t able to finish the survey then, so we are starting from the other end. The path is wide and gentle with viewpoints at some of the falls. There are a few marked waypoints were the grade increases, so assistance may be needed in the steep sections for wheelchair/mobility equipment or stroller users, or the full route may not be possible. The width is typically four feet minimum.

You can find more information about the trail at https://clark.wa.gov/sites/default/files/dept/files/public-works/Parks/LuciaTrail.pdfor https://naturalatlas.com/trailheads/hantwick-road-2261577.
